Durham Repose
EFS17-85 @85, f/16, 5 Seconds, ISO100, -1/3ev, RAW, tripod
The "relaxed" 1839 memorial for James Britton feels somewhat incongruous against the much older details
of Durham Cathedral, which was completed early on in the 12th century.
Sidebar: The movie "Elizabeth", starring Cate Blanchett, had several scenes filmed in the nave of Durham;
in one scene, she walks past this memorial, shot from above. Only, the memorial is completely covered,
made to look like a massive stone slab, weathered, chipped, and thus otherwise fitting in
with the appearance of 12th century age throughout the nave.
